Inter-Ivy Transfer

i am now a dartmouth student. but dartmouth is not my first choice and i want to transfer to harvard. are there many such cases? i found it quite difficult to explain the reason why i have to transfer. what shall i do, like, maintain high gpa, take SAT again to get a higher score, or something else, to transfer successfully? thank you very much for your suggestions.

Yo friend, I'm a Dartmouth student too! Are you a freshman? I'm going to be doing a transfer app to Stanford (maybe) because my family moved out west.

i thought dartmouth was the happy student school where everyone loves it like slipper always says????

i envy you guys, i applied to Dartmouth RD but was rejected, but i used to never have heard of Dartmouth, in RD, i applied to it, because i just picked it randomly, but during the interviewing process, i found... "WOW, this school has everything i need" the D-plan and learning environment. but it was too late, i didn't prep my app well, and i hastely did the interview... I was totally unprepared, so i was rejected :(
but now, i have done many things this year and want to try to transfer from a canadian university to Dartmouth.
is it really hard there?
i really want to go there, any tips?
could you please email any tips? at jack_frost429@hotmail.com

bball87: I like Dartmouth pretty well but I would like to be closer to my family and have better weather. Not dissatisfied with the school, just think S would be better.

Newbyreborn: Check your mail.

i applied to dartmouth too and got waitlisted...they only took 22 people from the waitlist though wahh...anyway i'm at boston univ. and i hate it...it's like remedial high school...i was waitlisted at all of my top choices

just wondering, since i'm going to reapply to dartmouth, how's the social scene...i noticed when i visited that there were like 2 streets...i'm just not so sure about how many things there are to do around there...fill me in!!

if you find it difficult to describe why you want transfer to Harvard, why the h*** are you trying it? If you're prestigious-wh*ring, I suggest you find some solid academic and EC reasons why Harvard would be better that you can put in your app. Additionally, yeah great grades and ECs.

I couldnt apply to Ivy's since they want high school transcript and test scores, like SAT 1 and 2's.

The social scene is Ok. There's only so much time in the day, and I'm finding plenty of stuff to do. Always something going on. If you like parties I've been to a few of the frats and had no trouble getting in and meeting people despite being a freshman. I enjoy it.

im trying to transfer from cornell to harvard... any tips?
