Interest Letter

I want to sent an interest letter to UMich’s admissions office directly instead of my region counselor. Last time I sent something to her, she didn’t put it into my file. Does anyone know the admissions office’s email?

Thanks!

Sending that email directly to the admissions office would probably hurt your chances more than help them.

Why would it hurt my chances of all things?

It wouldn’t - ridiculous.

It’s not ridiculous. I work in the admissions office. I don’t know if you’ve ever been in that specific office, but there are about 10 people who actually admit the students. They admit about 6,000 students so they’re pretty busy. So sure, I was being dramatic by saying it’d hurt you, but it probably won’t help either.

Are you on the waitlist?

@bbsimmons You work in THE admissions office, at Ann Arbor?

I mean, I somewhat understand your reasoning, but when I contacted undergrad admissions through the live chat, I was told to send my letter of continued interest to the “ecredentials” undergrad email address, not my regional counselor or physical mail.

Everything is put into your file anyways. Counselors forward student emails to the processing unit to place in their file.

I’m a student who is employed by the admissions office. I’m just trying to say that there aren’t many people who admit the students, and they’re pretty busy, so I was assuming that StillWaitingHere was just gonna send his letter to the general admissions email, which . Plus, I think they’re basically done admitting students (according to their tumblr account) , so unless you’re on the waitlist…

I am currently on the waitlist so I was thinking of sending them a letter saying that I really do want to go to UMich and I didn’t apply to it just because. @bbsimmons , thanks for the advice!

I wish the best of luck to you!
