So, is that category strictly like, sexual orientation? Say you have, "Interested in: Men, Women" and "Looking for: Friendship"; does that necessarily mean you're bisexual? Anyway, it's kinda ambiguos. Just wondering what people's thoughts are :P.

I always thought it meant interested in sexually.

Of course it's sexual orientation, there shouldn't be any confusion about that.

Yes. Sexual orientation. Thats what its for. One reason why guys tend to have it changed to "men" whenever they leave it logged on at a friend's computer.

Yeah, that's what I assumed...but there's SO many more people than I thought there would be with both sexes listed. It does tend to be only girls, though. I guess I'm just sheltered! Hah.

Haha...

Not that there's anything wrong with it, but... hehehe

I went on my ex-boyfriend's site and changed his to interested in: men.

He has yet to realize.

haha, how long has it been?

about 3 weeks =)

You're awesome.

or maybe hes seen it and doesnt mind... could be why hes your ex boyfriend?

Nice :)

I once signed an ex-boyfriend up for loads of gay porn because he's extremely homophobic and that's one of the things that we used to get in fights about since I have several gay friends. It made me feel much better about the situation...as immature as it may have been (I was just a Sophomore in HS, though, so that's my excuse) :)

On at least two occasions, my mom has seen that section of my profile and said something to the effect of "Interested in women? Where are your priorities?" At which point I explained to her that it referenced sexual orientation, not recreational interests. :P

^^Haha, that's hilarious. :D

Ha. I'm glad my mom doesn't see my profile too often.

He actually just saw it yesterday. Someone posted on his wall saying: "'Interested in: Men' I learn something new everyday."

He doesn't think it's me though, because I'm not supposed to know his password.

haha, that part was a big help when people kept contacting me to be roommates.

of course it refers to sexual orientation. who the hell only looks for male or female friends?

Maybe facebook should make it so you can type someone's name into that field instead of only "male" and "female".

well you can get married to someone.. haha

Yes, it's sexual orientation. They avoid using the terms (gay, lesbian, bisexual) because many LGBTQ people prefer to not label themselves, and "interested in" accommodates transgender and other queer people.

Just a clue though, easily half (if not more) of the gay people on Facebook don't have anything listed. If it just says "male" and no "interested in" (and they're not in a relationship), you can bet they're gay.

I <3 Facebook.
