Interested in pursuing a degree in MIS (Management Information Systems). Need Advice

Well, to start off, I was a slacker for a while and had intentions on joining the Coast Guard, but decided that I actually want to pursue a degree and live the 'college life'. I've always been a computer guy (building, fixing, troubleshooting), but have always lacked/never pursued on the programming/software/networking/language/etc. side. I'm definitely a people person, and if I understand, that's definitely a plus for this major. I wouldn't say that I'm weak or strong at math, but I definitely dislike it and would rather stray away from it (I'm more than willing to learn what I have to though). I've already attended a semester of community college (16 credits) and have a 3.5 GPA (I applied myself, but definitely could have done better and I definitely feel more motivated). I plan on attending community college for at least 30 hours or possibly obtain my associates. My ultimate goal is to get into University of Georgia and to my understanding would be a lot easier with an associates/transfer degree. Now that you have some background, this is what I was wondering...

Is this degree worth it?
What associates/transfer degree should I get?
What kind of work-load/classes am I looking at?
What should I minor in?
Any tips/advice?

Also, I'm a tad confused on what classes I should take in order to transfer to UGA.
