Looks like they admitted an out-of-stater with lower stats than my D who was deferred so far. Looking for dollars or state diversity?

Looking for dollars…we had a much better experience with Geneseo.

Interesting, especially the bit about fewer female applicants, and the high number (I think) of students accepting admission.

My big question is: does Bing really look at the application other than the courses taken/GPA and test scores? I tend to doubt it.

Fatherli? A better experience or a better result? Do you think G might look at applicants more holistically?

NY is so “generous” to out-of-staters,too, esp. with Bing. Other states charge OOS much more money. Some OOS paying just a few thou more than their in-state, I believe.

I think it will cost us about $10,000 more to send our Son to Binghamton as an Out of state student.

OOS prices are all over the place. UVA $48,000, UCharleston $36K or so, UNC-Chapel $37,000, UMichigan, UConn $38,000. Some other states are in 20Ks. Some will give (Alabama) scholarship and in-state prices to top academic OOS. I will be really upset, tho, if my D is denied Bing when I know OOS with lower states were admitted. Of course, don’t know all facts, but…SUNY-Bing charges only $27K OOS.
