<p>My best friend applied to Berkeley as a BioE major and was rejected.</p>
<p>He appealed and they accepted it; however, he was placed into Letters & Science instead of Engineering. He’s going to attend under the assumption that he will be able to transfer after a few semesters.</p>
<p>I don’t see much on these forums about transfering between colleges at Berkeley. I saw a few posts reguarding how difficult it is to transfer from L&S to EECS, is it the same for BioE?</p>
<p>Transferring from another college(such as L&S) into College of Engineering will be difficult, but no impossible- that's what I have read.</p>

what did your friend do to get accepted as an appeal. did he apply to a different major in his appeal.</p>
<p>He just mentioned his situation, stuff he forgot to add into his application, improved gpa, etc.</p>
<p>Did he just write a letter with any recommendations?</p>
<p>He had 2-3 letters thrown in along with an official updated transcript.</p>
<p>Hmmm depends on how well he does in engineering requirements. like math 1b, 53, 54, chem1, chem3, bio 1, etc.</p>
