Interesting Classes at Purdue

Hi everyone! Prospective Purdue English Major here. To those who went to Purdue: is there any class that you took at Purdue, in any department, that really stood out to you?

My D loved her Entrepreneurship classes.

But against an Engineering plan of study, it’s probably not hard to have something interesting. She’s also liked her Philosphy and Psychology GenEds, but not as much as Entrepreneurship.

Given her schedule, she doesn’t get to try courses like Wine Appreciation, Beer Brewing, Glass Blowing, etc.

My D is a Purdue engineer but she absolutely adored her EDPS courses for her collaborative leadership certification. Her favorite was Collaborative Leadership: Cross-Cultural Settings. Here’s the course description:

In this course, students explore the cultural nuances of leadership in the United States as well as around the world. This course will include impact of globalism as a context for leadership, conflict resolution in a global environment, and other important factors that impact culturally diverse or global teams. Method of course delivery will include utilization of experiential activities and innovative technology to learn about and engage with culturally diverse individuals.

She’s hoping to be able to take Wine Appreciation in her senior year ; )

PS Her favorite courses though were her organic chem sequence. Probably not what most would consider “interesting.”
