Interesting Roommate Situation! What shall I do?

<p>I was accepted to UNC Chapel Hill in January. I recently found a roommate through the Facebook roommate finder and we seem to get along great. We've been talking for several days and are about to begin our housing application. </p>

<p>However, I am waitlisted to four schools and if I was offered a place at one of them, would probably go. I'm planning to let her know this soon. I was just wondering : Can my roommate request another roommate of her choice if I leave even if it is after the housing application deadline? And does she have to pay the $200 fee?</p>

<p>mm sounds like you’d probably be screwing your roommate over…i’d be pretty upset if i’d wanted to find a roommate & then she backed out over the summer and i had to go totally potluck…</p>

<p>I believe in full disclosure… Even if housing application wasn’t screwed, I’d be annoyed that my prospective roommate backed out without warning me beforehand.</p>
