Internacional Student trying to improve writing.

Hey guys, how you doin' ?

I'm an internacional student (brazil) and i'll take my first SAT in june. So, first i'd like to say that i read almost the entire forum haha I did some weeks ago the Official 2013-2014 SAT test and got 700 in math, 580 in CR and 540 in writing. 'twas my first test, and once i've never took any english courses, i think i did pretty well :)

Since the prep test i'm studying very hard ! I think i've improved a lot already, but unfortunatelly i dont have acess to the blue book yet :/ You cant find it here in brazil, but luckly i'm going to US in a couple weeks, so i'm just studying math for now. I'm aiming for 2400 -- hoping to get at least 2100 -- and i think i'm on the right way, but i just have some problems:

The Identifying Errors part is definitely the biggest one :/ I usually do something around 22/25 in the improving sentences, but the moment i go for the identifying errors, crap hit the fan. You guys have no idea how hard is for me doing these questions. So, i'd like to know: how do you guys tackle these questions exactly ?

Because of the short time, i just read it and mark something that sounds weird to my ears (and please, remember that's not a native ear).

and there's one more thing i'd like to ask: Should i buy just the blue book ? I'm sure i'll be able to hit 760-800 math 'till june, but i'm not so sure if i'll even be able to hit 650+ in CR and writing. It's pretty hard for me improve on these. Do you guys have any especific book to indicate for CR and writing ? I read a lot of guides here and i really liked the silverturtle's one, but i'm not sure if i should buy the princeton review books or the rocket review ones. Any tips in this matter ?

thanks a lot.

First off, case in point: it’s International, not “internacional”.
And I would strongly recommend blue book if anything than just for practice tests. For identifying sentences, there are a surprisingly large amount of tricks and trends. For instance, there are around 20 distinct errors/ grammar rules that will literally show up on every single test. Look for these lists on the CC guides or in prep books, but learn these and I’ll promise you at least a 700 in writing.

sorry about the ‘internacional’ haha. gonna buy the BB for sure, thanks for the tip. But there’s any other book that i shows up how to approach the writing questions ?
