International Applicants' advantage?

im Canadian and going to apply for US schools.

since I pay more tuition, does that somehow increase my chances a little? people say that a university's "income" comes from international students

i.e. Berkeley = $4000~~ for Cali ppl
Berkeley = $40,000~~ for international
thats 10X the money

ummm...any1? lol =P

No advantage, its usually harder,especially for top schools.

It's $25K versus $40K at Berkeley and it's harder to get in as an international. At schools that don't get a lot of international applicants it can help to be an international who can pay.

Some schools have a quota for international students. I think MIT does; their acceptance rate for internationals is around 4%.
