Hey guys

As I am aware there is no official way of converting your IB scores to a GPA. I've sent a few emails around to the colleges I wish to apply to e.g. USC, Michigan, New York and they all replied they take into account the "rigors" of the IB diploma and it'll prepare us well for college but there were no mentions of minimum grades and such.

So my question is does anyone know how they evaluate IB scores and what kind of predicted scores would be expected to get into the top 30 colleges in the US?

Thanks!

This is something I would love to know too. My school only gives grades in terms of IB points (ie no percentages whatsoever). So how would it convert??

7-A
6-A-
5-B
4-C
3-D

?!?

However, on my report card it states
7-Excellent
6-Very Good
5-Good
4-Satisfactory
3-Mediocre

American schools generally don't look into predicted scores because they're just that - predicted. There's no way of being 100% certain that a kid will eventually get a 45 next May.

However, I've heard that 38+ is the score to get if you want to be considered by top top schools. Do keep in mind that they're bound to admit people with less and reject people with more every year. It's only a part of your whole application and there's no "minimum requirement".
