I was wondering what exactly this major consists of? Obviously it is business at an international level but for people who have majored in this or know anything about it is it more studying other countries' economies, studying other languages, or learning how to market things internationally? This sounds like a great major but I am also interested in economics and I hope to be able to learn about this as well if I chose to try to major Int- business. Any info in general is greatly appreciated. Also does anyone know anything specifically about this major at Stern?

I would also like to learn more about students’ experiences with this major.

International Business is a very general degree. You take some classes in economics, some accounting, some management, some marketing, some IT, etc. You are probably also required to take a higher number of credit hours of a foreign language than other majors. You get a little bit of everything. Because of this, many schools either require or strongly recommend some sort of emphasis: either a concentration, a second major, or a minor in some area that interests you.

You’ll find that many people wouldn’t recommend this major by itself. Pairing with economics as a double degree (as you seem interested) would likely be a solid choice if you don’t mind the extra expense/time.

I was an International Business major but have switched to Accounting for better employment prospects.
