International Finance/Economics/Business Majors

International business was always an interesting major for me but what exactly are the differences between a business major and an international business major? i mean, i know its obvious that international business means youll be dealing with other countries but what are the differences in terms of careers, etc. and graduates from which major generally make more salary wise?

also, i came across an international finance and marketing major in a catalog that Umiami sent me and it seemed real interesting so i looked up both international finance but according to collegeboard, its offered at only 18 schools whereas international business is offered at around 500 schools.. why is that? same thing with international economics

id really appreciate it if someone could just tell me a little more about all 3 of these majors

Okay, I go to the #1 ranked International Business school in the nation. Am I in the program? No. International Business is way too broad. You take courses in International Marketing, International Management, International Finance, etc.
Nothing specific. They are just courses from business fields with an international emphasis.
If you really want to do International Business, I would suggest you double major International Business with either Marketing or Finance. Doing a minor in a foreign language would work really well also.

International Finance/International Econ aren't very popular and aren't offered at the nations best schools. Other than that, I don't know much about it as far as employment, job outlook, etc go.

sp1212 pretty much nailed my program. I'm an INB/Economics double major. Here is our INB core:

Principles of Financial and Managerial Accounting
International Business Environments
International Marketing
International Management
International Financial Management
International Business Internship
Global Business Strategy
Introduction to Economics in Historical Perspective
Principles of Micro- and Macroeconomics
Statistics for Economics

Also, 4 language courses (required up to the 300 level), some INB electives and some other electives. I added the economics to legitimize it a bit... still though, I'm sure most of the real "business" learning will go on during the MBA stuff.

I would love to do an international business internship.

Sounds bad.
