Anyone know anything whatsoever about this program? Is it supposed to be well respected or developed?

I'm applying to that program. Or will in my second year. If I get in. I was pretty confident about admissions before visiting this site and reading about a lot of you great people freaking out. Is it really that hard to get in? Anyway, what I can tell you about International Development is that it is a "booming field", or so I'm told. I'm not sure how long McGill has had it but it sounds pretty well developed. They have their own little area on campus. I don't quite remember the exact name but it's something along the lines of "Centre of International Development Studies". The range of courses you can take is incredible...anything from economics (2 courses REQUIRED), political science, history, etc. Obviously I'm no expert, I'm just another applicant. But I think I've done my research and I genuinely like the program and think it can open a lot of doors down the road. I also know that you will have to spend some time doing field work in a foreign country for this program. What else? Joint honours available. Just interesting man. Interdisciplinary, intellectually stimulating...I mean, that's what college is all about right? Anyway, hope this helps.
