I recently got accepted into UB as an international freshman, but the scholarship announcement is not until the 1st of March…so this is going to be one tense month waiting to see if I got any.
To pass time, and satisfy my curiosity (assuming current students still visit this forum…):
For International applicants from last year who managed to get the scholarship, how much did you get? And how was your application? i.e SAT Score, GPA, quality of your essay and ECs (that’s subjective information but eh, it’ll do), and A Level/ IB subjects and grades, or whatever you want to write. I think SAT and GPA are enough though
I got accepted into UB too. What were your credentials? I applied with 5 As in A-Level, GPA4.0, SAT 1 1450, SAT 2 1600. ECs nothing too impressive but had several meaningful involvements.
You’re pretty overqualified, so it’s no wonder you got accepted.
I got 1380 in SAT 1.
ECs were mostly a bunch of business competitions and participation in Model United Nations and the Drama Club, so probably average or above average, I guess.
I’m not sure about my GPA but I got 5A* and 3As in the IGCSEs which I think (?) is a 4.00 GPA, at least according to my school’s translation.
I took 5 AS Levels but the grades were A, A, C, D, D but I repeated those Ds to get an A, B in the November session. I’m currently doing the final year of A Levels. I think UB doesn’t give much weight to A Levels provided you’ve passed, though it might matter in the scholarship.
I got accepted too. There’s package sending to me tomorrow but I’m not sure whether it’s from UB or not. Still, I think your scholarship will be above average cause your scores are really high
@Karma205 Yeah, I’m hoping that’s the case. It really depends on how they interpret those 2 Ds. I did “overwrite” them with an A and B, but I’m not sure if that’s how they’ll look at it. Fingers crossed
