international health

is anyone majoring in this or thinking about it?

it sounds quite interesting.. can anyone tell me a little bit about it?

i'm a int'l health major. it's quite a unique major, the only one of it's kind. u'll be in the school of nursing and health sciences, which is the smallest school at the university, but it's also the most personal. the core requirements all deal with healthcare on the international level, i.e. health promotion, humanitarian work, global patterns of disease. it's basically combining together international affairs and health studies. you have three required internships, one in the community, one abroad, and the other with an international organization. you also have a health pratical that can be taken abroad in denmark, australia, or england. it's also quite easy to do pre-med and minor within this program, as i will be doing both. just check out snhs.georgetown.edu

how easy is it to switch out of colleges if you decide that you do not want to major in that anymore and would rather take classes in the arts and science college?

it's actually quite easy. just get in first. you can always call up your advisor and tell them you wanted to do something else. and plus, if the school doesn't offer what you want to study, you can always mix and match and get a great concentration. my academic advisor's been great with that....
