I'll be attending the International Orientation, and I'm a bit confused about how it works.

1) Will we be assigned to our contracted dorms beginning the international orientation?

2) There is a Fall Orientation after the International Orientation; do we have to pack up and leave the school and come back during September when school really starts? (It's like a couple of days gap between the end of International Orientation and the beginning of school).

3) Is the school going to treat us like people who never learned English during the orientation? (using slow English, etc.)?

Yeah, we are assigned our dorms , well before Orientation , I got mine a month ago . Check your Housing Status in My Housing and check for an issue date. Ask them to email/fax your contract as international mail is often slow and unreliabe. You can move into your dorm on the 23rd of August , pay 250$ more. Or you can live in a hotel for Orientation and move into your dorm on the 28th or 29th , whatever is given on your Housing Contract.

We dont take part in the Fall Orientation.Between the 28th and the 4th , that is the intermissing time between the end or our Oirentation and when classes start , we move into our dorms and begin getting accustomed to the place. There are a number of activited during this time , it is known as Welcome Week. You can check the various events on the ONSP website.

Michigan requires to pass the TOEFL and of course gte a decent score in CR aand Writing sections of the SAT. The English they use, will be exactly the English they use to communicate with our American counterparts. :)

Well yeah, I got my housing assignment a month ago also (Oxford). What I was wondering was whether I get into my assigned dorm at the beginning of orientation. Oh wait, so during international orientation we can't stay in dorms unless we pay more? International Orientation costs less than the normal orientations, is that because staying in dorms is not part of the costs? Oh man, I'm more confused now :S hahaha. And yeah, I did good on both TOEFL and SAT.

ok, the thing is the following, you arrive to the university, checkin in the international student cente (for medical insurance), then go to your dorm, pay 250$ and stay there
jajjajjajaja

well, u can stay in a hotel if you want....
