I am helping an international student who will be attending Smith. I gather, from reading other posts, that international students do not move into their houses upon arrival. Does anyone know whether they have access to their academic year houses to move in and store their "long term" items? If not, when can they gain access to their houses? I could store her long term items in my daughter's storage "locker" and move those in later if necessary, but I'd like to plan. Any help or direction as to who to call at Smith would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don’t know the answer specifically for international students, but I do know that my daughter, who attended preorientation and who was housed in a different house than her assigned one, was allowed access to her permanent house’s storage area. She put all her stuff in the basement, which she later moved into her room.

Contact Dean Tamzarian by email. He is very helpful.

Thank you both!
