International relations: BU or U of R?

I am trying to choose between U of R and Boston University. My interest is in international relations/affairs. BU has a specific IR department, and a huge number of courses in that area... but U of R has the flexible major, and good internship programs overseas... U of R also seems to have a better overall reputation (?).

Advice?

I'd go to BU for the IR department and for Boston

Does Rochester even have an IR degree? I was poking around in the list of programs and couldn't find any reference to it. I know they have a superb poli sci department -- considered one of the very best in the country for the production of Ph.D's, but I wasn't aware they had an IR major.

They don't have IR per se, but they allow students to put together their own major e.g. European Studies or whatever. They have the field of IR as part of the political sci dept.

While U of R might have IR as a major, BU has a far more respected program, and Boston > Rochester in terms of acquiring internships relating to your field.
