Which would look more favorable to T1 Law school

Whichever gets you a higher GPA and LSAT. They won't care about major.

Now, if there's a chance of your wanting to get a job before applying to law school, that's something different to think about.

ya which is better then, if I wanted to get a job before law school?

Sociology is broader, but IR might lead to specific jobs. They're both about equal.

Depends what kind of job you want.

What job is available?

Jeez... there are some things you have to decide for yourself. What you want to be when you grow up is one of them.

Sociology is one of those majors that doesn't really have ties to any specific jobs. It might be helpful if you decide to go into human resources, most generic non-profit jobs, etc. but your marketability will depend a lot on what jobs and internships you've had.

With IR, a lot depends on whether you also have any foreign language expertise or decide to focus on a particular area. A generic IR degree might be helpful for getting your foot in the door at companies that do business internationally, internationally focused non-profits, and government jobs. But again, marketability depends on jobs and internships, as well as whether you've focused on any particular areas and subjects.

Sorry, if I am asking supid questions:(

They're not stupid questions, but they're questions that really, only you can answer :) It's understandable to want help with such big decisions but in the end, your talents, interests, and goals are the most important factor and we can't tell you much about those.

Good luck! The best way to decide if you like those fields is probably to a) take intro sociology and intro IR, and see what you enjoy, and b) look at some entry-level job listings and see what kinds of educational preparation employers are looking for for the positions you find interesting.

hey, how about a double major?

bumpbumpbump

Do whichever one you like the most. Take intro classes in each. Or if you're completely concerned about the law school thing, do whichever one will get you the highest GPA. It really just depends on where you want to go with your life, as the two are fairly different (not like biology and art, but you get the idea).
