Hey!
I'm new to CC posting so I'm not really sure if I'm doing this right. I would appreciate any feedback relating to majoring in international relations or international affairs. I'm not really sure what I want to do exactly when I'm older (I'm a senior in HS) but I know this is the path I want to take. I am considering going to law school afterward. SO do you think that this career path would pay off in the long run? (Career outlook, income, etc.)
Also, what colleges would give me the best return on investment? I am a middle-class white female so I will not receive much, if any, financial aid. I have a 3.94 GPA and a 30 on the ACT. I am the president of my school's Model United Nations club. I am looking for schools that have well-known international relations programs but ones that I can also receive scholarships from.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Here’s a place to do some research on intl relations as a career; it also ranks some programs.

http://internationalrelationsonline.com/education/international-relations-program-rankings/

There are plenty of other programs out there. I suggest you look at the column on the left of this page and run the SuperMatch function to begin your search. Once you have a list that fits many of your criteria, consider the most important criteria: money. Run the net price calculator found on the financial aid page of each school to find out what your family will be expected to pay. Then get from your parents a number that they will provide you each year. This will help you to find schools where the Expected Family Contribution is relatively close to what your parents say they can provide you. You’re not going anywhere you cannot afford.

Schools: Middlebury and CMC are great government and international relations schools. Less well known than Harvard, but just as good.

you can just major in political science at any school. you may change your mind on what you want to do as you get more involved in college life.
