Hi I'm relatively new to the site but I wanted to get a students view on the International Relation program at PENN. Is it a really good program, what kind of internships do they offer, and what are the requirements? Any information would be great.

i am interested in that answer as well haha

thank you :)

it’s awesome and has unparalleled breadth compared to other undergrad IR schools. It’s also one of the more rigorous majors at Penn as you have to apply to get in (you can’t just be put in it automatically because you want to), and it requires a year-long senior thesis, even for non-honors students.

how do I do that, do I state it on the application, or do I request it?

You can state it on the application to Penn, but that doesn’t automatically make you an IR major. If you get in to Penn, and go to Penn, then you have to meet with the IR department for a pre-admit interview to discuss if the IR major is right for you, and then sign up to complete the prereqs, meeting the GPA requirement. Then you can finally be declared an IR major :)
