International SAT December 1st 2012 Discussion for Critical Reading

-9 is always 700. That’s the base of the curve.

67 is 800, 58 is 700. that doesn’t change.

Well it equals Abu/ct…

I got 48 too

@aryuautku

Nope, -9 is not always 700. I took the october 2012 test and got -8, and ended up with a 690.

And yes, -1 in math is 760. Check the past nov 08 us and jan 11 international threads for this.

Alternating vovels and consonants answer is 8 according to past threads. Should be quite self-explanatory 2x2x2 = 8

After reading all the threads, I feel kinda depressed.
Momentarily, I am -4 to -5 :frowning:
Hope it doesn’t worsen

Just to confirm, there was one question about how many A’s will be there after 374 times or something like that…anyone remember the answer? I currently have 2 wrong in math and 4 wrong in CR. Feels horrible since I will be getting a 740 in math if the above curve is true :(

What was the answer for the math question #20 that asked sth like what coordinate must the line pass when the line passes point P and the y-coordinate of P is the slope? I guessed B. And what was the answer for how many A’s? and is 4/3 acceptable for under line m question?

@koreanincambodia-I don’t remember that one…and 4/3 is greater than one but less than 2 so it is right…i wrote 1.9 lol.
@piscinemolita-I put 94 because 372/4=93 means that 372th letter will be D so 373th letter will be A again and 374th will be B…hence total answer 94? I guess. can anyone confirm?

Let’s discuss only CR in this thread, shall we?

one question regarding curves:

Does the curve remain the same when tests are re-administered?

Sent from my GT-S5360 using CC

yeah, the curve remains the same if its the same test. curve is based on the difficulty of the test, not the performance of test takers

I think we’ve discussed pretty much all of CR…the difficult questions at least and all the SC’s. What do you mean? The curve changes from test to test depending on how hard it is so that everyone gets judged fairly no matter which SAT they take…

yeppp so we had same test from 2008 november American. therefore, the curve remains the same so -1 in math is 760… (ridiculous)

Guys, can someone please tell me the answer to the question why did the author use quotation marks around famous ?

Sent from my GT-S5360 using CC

***…now I’ll have to retake the whole darn thing just because of two bloody careless errors in Math…

I put to convey a sense of irony…I think it’s the correct answer.

^Derp

The math question is 94 - that’s what I’m sure about.

^
The famous with quotes should convey a sense of irony. 99.999% sure of that.

What about a) life’s chaos vs the book had a (weird) sentimental value vs b) nuance and complex vs casts humans in an unflattering light?

FINAL and DEFINITIVE answers with explanations ?

Sent from my GT-S5360 using CC

does anyone know which one was the math experimental : (
oh and how did you guys do on writing? how many no errors did you guys get?

was one of the choices irony for your question junaid123? if it is, i chose that
