International Schools

Dear CC,

I am a incoming senior in high school from America. I want to know if there are any international schools in a Chinese, Japanese, or Korean speaking area that would be willing to consider me. I am looking for English taught schools in these areas. I do have an extremely poor GPA of 2.9 unweighted. I also have a 1900ish cumulative SAT score, with a mid 1300 SAT score on a 1600 scale. I have very good extracurricular activities in community service and research. I also have, and can show, an innate passion for East Asian culture and a desire to study abroad. I am more than willing to commit myself to a 4 year program abroad (which is primarily what I am looking for), because i know that most American colleges have study abroad programs for a semester or a year, but that's not what I am asking about. I am already looking into universities like Temple University and NYU for their international programs.

PS. I am not fluent in any East Asian language.

If you are interested in learning Japanese, the Japanese government has a big scholarship program to bring foreign students into the country. Scholarship recipients attend a year-long Japanese language training course followed by a regular university degree program. The scholarship would cover tuition, airfare and a stipend for living expenses.
