Hi,
Does anyone know the international student acceptance rate for Boston University?
Thanks
Almost 25% of students are international. BU doesn’t offer any FA to international students. ( A select few will be given scholarships. They will be truly outstanding.) I imagine the acceptance rate is pretty low for international students, probably due in large part to monetary issues. BU has 32,000 students. I am guessing that if you exceed the top 75% of stats and are full pay, your chances of getting into BU are decent.
Hey guys,
I’m an international student studying in a british school. What are my chances of getting into BU with these grades?
GCSE GPA: 3.4
A Level predicted grades: A A B ( so 3.7/3.8 gpa)
I sat my SAT (old) last year and was a big mistake not doing it again as I had a low score of 1550/2400
Thanks
Given that it’s harder for international students to be admitted, I’d say your chances are slim to none. I’m sorry, but with an average sat of 2067, a 1550 puts you far below that, and BU is very adamant about testing scores.
Aye, I was accepted to the College of Arts and Sciences as a Computer Science Major; it’s a bit expensive, but I think I will probably end up going there. Thanks for the info btw!
Hey. I’m an international student who’s currently studying at BU.
I had an even lower SAT score (1480) but was still accepted.
SAT scores alone are truly NOT a measure of your excellence.
Work on your personal statement and extracurricular activities!

Confirming the statistic cited above, this recent article from BU Today rather vaguely notes that international students make up “24.4 percent of the student body” for this year’s admissions.
