If Stanford is not popular why there have been 32000 applicants? Chances for an international to get admission to Stanford at undergraduate level is near to impossible. Even if you have a chance to get accepted the chances of getting accepted with financial aid will be very low.
How many of you agree with me?

I don’t agree entirely…I’m international (well, American-born but go to high school in another country) and got accepted. In a sense, being international is an advantage because you bring something different to the table. You’re more unique. Of course, this doesn’t mean anything without good grades, SATs, ECs, etc, but the combination of all of those PLUS being international can help you. DON’T let it deter you from applying! However, it is true that financial aid isn’t the easiest to get.

i semi-agree with college.curious

he/she is right in inferring that the most competitive pool is the group needing financial aid, which gives the overall international admissions the reputation for being very competitive, which it is.

It is competitive - no two ways about it (even more so if you want financial aid). It also depends on whether your area/region has a lot of Stanford applicants or not.

‘It also depends on whether your area/region has a lot of Stanford applicants or not.’

Is having lots a good thing or bad?

^Bad, in my opinion, because there is a lot of competition!
