I wanted to know how my admissions are affected if i apply for aid. I am an international student.
please answer for ivies and state universities as well,,,

State univs probably won’t care since few/none give need-based aid to int’ls. And, your past the deadline for merit at some of the publics that give merit scholarships to int’ls.

Which publics are you wondering about…I don’t think any of the top ones give need-based aid or merit-based aid to int’ls.

Some of the ivies and top schools are need-aware for int’ls. Cornell is one. C says on its website that if you’re an int’l and your family can pay, then don’t apply for aid.

With your stats, admission to top schools or merit is unlikely.

You’re from India. Too much competition from India.

In another post you mention that maybe you won’t apply for aid. What are your parents saying about paying? If they’ll pay then don’t apply for aid…your chances will improve.

Forget about any top publics unless you’ll full pay. You won’t get a dime of aid.

oh , thanks!
anyways i’ve applied to Stanford, MIT, Columbia,Caltech, Cornell, UPenn and Harvey Mudd.
So ithink it wouldn’t affect me if I applied for aid right?(I heard UPenn is reluctant to give aid and might affect chances)
is it true?

but MIT provides the option of considering TOEFL or SAT either one, since I got 111 in TOEFL
while native speakers also only manage a max of 113-115, I think they’d be convinced of my English. My SAT 2 scores are good enough, but thanks anyways:)
