I was just wondering if anyone on here may have applied to the Americal Musical and Dramatic Academy as an international student from the UK(like me) or any other country.
I have scheduled an audition but I am confused and slightly worried about the financial aid part. They say they don't offer it to international students and their fees are quite steep. Would a scholarship be my only chance? And is it the same as in England, where you don't have to pay the fees back until you earn a certain amount?
Is there no point in applying if I know I won't be able to afford the fees without financial aid or a scholarship?

Sorry for all the questions but I would really appreciate some help and advice!
Thank you :)

College in the U.S. is pay-as-you-go. If you can’t get the money to pay your tuition and fees by the beginning of each semester, then you don’t go.

Further, as an international student, you won’t be allowed in the country unless you can prove that you have the money you’ll need to pay both your tuition and living expenses.

If AMDA doesn’t offer financial aid to international students, then your only option would be to get a grant or loan in your home country that would cover the full cost of attendance.

dodgersmom is correct.

And I might add that their scholarship offerings to US students are dismal at best…a maximum, renewable “scholarship” of $7500-$8,500 per year to entice you in, with loans making up the rest of the package. The annual COA is $40,520 (tuition, room, books, estimated food/living expense). They accept 77% of their applicants, basically taking anybody who will pay. There’s a reason why they’re known as SCAMDA in the arts circle.
Stay away and continue your training in the UK!
