Scholarships

Hello!
I’m from Uruguay and I’m planning to audition to Tisch for the musical theatre program.
I was wondering if this school provided a good amount of financial aid to really talented international students. I don’t mean to brag or anything, but I’ve been studying musical theatre since I was 5 years old and I am actually really talented. I’ve been told by amda teachers that I could get in any school I wanted to. The thing is I cant afford 70.000 gran a year, so I was wondering how much financial aid this school gives, aprox.
Just want to know if I should even bother to apply.
Thank you so muchhh

Financial aide is based on a wide number of features based on need (family financial circumstances) merit (grades and scores) and talent. Many students get some form of aide- but there is NO way to predict how much will come your way until after a student is accepted. This year there were only a few weeks between when students were notified, and when they had to commit, which is not a lot of time to do financial planning, especially from another country. So before you apply and audition, you have to think, and make a plan. How much CAN you afford to spend? What happens if you are accepted and don’t get enough aide? I will say that NYU is not famous for being remarkably generous. Lots of kids get scholarships and aide (including my own), but it isn’t always a ton. That said- there are too many variables, and we don’t (and can’t, don’t post specifics) know enough about you to make any sort of accurate judgment. My advise, apply to schools where you can see yourself learning and being happy, but have a concrete plan and goal of what you are and are not willing to spend before you start
