international student ask for advice!!

i'm an international student and i have something really confused to me.</p>

<p>i'm planning to apply ED to Barnard College.
But i really don't know what is Barnard's reputation in US..
does it belong to one of the most selective colleges??
how's its relationship with Columbia??
what kinds of girls go to Barnard??</p>

<p>Barnard is part of Columbia, but it’s considerably less selective. A wide range of girls from all over the country and internationally attend. It’s respected but is not considered among the very top schools as Columbia is.</p>
