Is it true that international students have a better chance of getting in?

sure, better chances than a person gettign a 800 SAT and and 1.0 GPA.

Sorry I had to be sarcasstic but the truth is its lot more difficult unless you are applying to the lower end public/ private schools

Sarcasm noted. ;)

But thanks for the information.

Not necessarily, depends on which school you are applying to. If there isn't a lot of students from your country at that particular school, your chance may be boosted

Depends from what school/country you are applying from. Students applying from China and India are at a disadvantage. Students applying from Senegal or Luxemburg are not going to be at a disadvantage.

WHy why why AM i frm India ?

koreans are at disadvantage too.

ya, i am from china.
we are at disadvantages.
cuz we are somehow always getting good scores.
i do not know, but i suspect it is discriminating aganist us though.
tears.................drop

It's not discrimination, it's simply because there are so many applicants from China and India each year which makes for tough competition.

ya, but i know some chinese from last years got 8 sat perfect and lots of EAs got rejected by 4 or 5 ivys.
and now i have a 4700/4800 on sat and i am really scared to be denied.

Singapore is no different. Every year out of this small island of 4million inhabitants, hundreds apply to top colleges in America. Since Singapore is such a small country, colleges are reluctant to accept too many Singaporean applicants. Hence the competition here is extremely cutthroat and overbearing. It's just miserable being here...

"i do not know, but i suspect it is discriminating aganist us though."

That is a lame excuse. I agree with the person that commented after you, it is more competition, as well as it should be.

Well I really don't think a person in India with great stats should be rejected with over a person with less impressive stats with similar oppurtunities though from a very small country.
