International student chances

Hey guys,

So I'm currently in grade 11 in a school in South Africa. It is a small private high school with about 50 people per grade. I would say I'm the top 10% of my class. it is a very competitive school and I currently have a GPA between 3.85 and 3.91. I do tons of extra curricular activities such as ballet, public speaking, debate,Model UN,drama and play a few instruments to name a few. I have also been captain of a few of my sporting teams and debate team, and currently play touch rugby on provincial level. I have a over 50 hours of community service this year. I am also currently starting up an NGO I am kinda worried that I may be missing a few elements. I want to go to Stanford University or USC. Our school doesn't really offer any AP classes except maths. I want to study and International relations or political sciences BA and I have a year left to really make my application look good. I'm looking towards getting a scholarship. I have a really busy schedule already, but I'm still afraid I wont stand out. Are there any tips from students who are currently in these schools or have been accepted? I'm looking forward to any advice from anyone. Thanks :)

If your uniqueness and passion for your ECs show through in your essays and your teacher recs, you’ll stand out
Otherwise, you have the academic standards needed for Stanford and the UCs.

Good luck!

Stanford: Reach (aim for 32+/2150+ regardless)
USC: Aim for 32+/2150+
