I want to apply to some selectice schools and have narrowed down about 10-15 so far. I've completed all parts of the common app apart from the letters of recommendation.

BUT, being an international student, my teachers have no done this so far. Although they are happily willing to write me the letters, my only chance would be to mail it to the university! Anyways, the Commonapp requires me to invite recommenders no matter what!

Is ther ANY way I can submit my application to the preferred schools without having to list any recommenders???

Go ahead and include your teachers in your apps but don’t include their email addresses. If you don’t enter an email address for them when you enter them into common app, you will get access to pdf versions of the printed recommendation forms.

Oh my goodness thanks, I was killing myself!!!

Do you have any idea if they will still accept the letters if they’re sent shortly after deadlines (I’m applying at Universities like that of Miami in FL, and the deadline is Jan. 1)…

This is really frustrating and not international student-friendly at all! :(

I don’t know particularly about Univ of Miami, but it is the norm for schools to accept recommendations for at least 2-3 business days after the deadline. Only a very few schools have strict deadlines for all parts of the app.

I believe the letter just has to be postmarked by the deadline date. Plus, just invite ur teachers through the assign recommenders tab, and when they open their email, they should get an option for a paper recommendation or to make an online account.
