International Student Likely Letter

Do you know of any international students that got a likely letter from Harvard (or any other prestigious school)? I know the likely letters are given to only a few, but what if the international was an athlete or very well qualified e.g. got a GOLD in the International Biology Olympiad, got perfect SAT I and II scores, did a lot of research and volunteering in their strong area etc.

Anyone???

In the Australian Class of 2014 thread in the intl students section, skylitup posted he/she got a likely letter from Yale, not sure about his/her stats though. hth

^ I did, and I must say, Yale is like a security blanket right now - giving me waves of comfort and warm-fuzzy-feelings, especially because I recently (and I suppose rather disconcertingly) got notified of Harvard’s request to do a second interview with me!

I’m not into giving stats, but within my national examinations, I achieved the top possible score, ranked top of the state in a number of humanities subjects and achieved various other academic distinctions. In addition I had very strong extracurriculars in focused areas which were my passions and which I pursued to a very high level.

I didn’t however get gold in any maths/science olympiads, am not a recruited athlete, and didn’t get perfect SATs!

I got one and there was a student from UK that got one a few weeks back.

Thanks everyone!

I was really curious about this :)

i got a likely letter from yale and im from canada lol

Well, I also got a likely letter from Columbia College, who also happen to be need-aware for internationals(I needed a great amount of financial aid.)

I got a likely from Columbia and a second interview at Harvard. I’m Central European.

Canada = America though… Kidding :)
