I am an international student at Johns Hopkins University, majoring in Chemical/Biomolecular engineering. I will be applying for graduate school this fall, and I just wanted to get some ideas on where I am, in terms of admission. I am interested in applying for Ph.D. programs in possibly any chemical/biological engineering departments, but my major interest is in alternative energy, such as biofuels and fuel cells. Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.72/4.00
Major GPA: 3.90
GRE: planning to take during summer
Research: Been doing research on Hopkins Medical Campus for about a year and a half now. My research lab's focus is mainly on structural enzymology, but I have been involved in one and only biofuel research project there. I had my own poster presentation (with me as first author) and hopefully I will have the paper ready during the summer and get it published.

My top school is Berkeley Chemical/Biomolecular Engineering, but after hearing some words from my advisor and reading threads in this forum, I started feeling that my chances are somewhat slim. Apart from UCB, I'm planning to apply to Ph.D. programs in Chemical Engineering or Bioengineering departments at:

USC
UCLA
UCSD
Cornell
Columbia
Northwestern
U. Minnesota

What are my chances in going to these schools? Will my mediocre GPA as an international student restrict my chances of going to those schools?

Thanks in Advance!
