im an international student who is limited at vocabs. Can anyone show me some strategies that I can use to do well on critical reading and writing? Because of my limited knowledge of vocabs, my essays are usually not really impressed due to overusing same vocab words. My c.r score is 470 and my writing is 460. Please help me, im taking the Dec. SAT.

Where are you from?
I just came to US couple years ago, having some issue with vocab but not reading nor writing.
Mostly by the help of my AP classes, however, with that said, as for vocab, it really just comes down to memorization, which is what I am doing right now.
With reading and writing, fabulous essay grades don’t necessarily mean having an immense vocabulary, though that does help. Essays are about coherence and proving your point, organization becomes a big part as well.
As for reading, all I can say is to be patient and simply read as much as you can. Mark up the text as you go of literary devices, main ideas or themes for each paragraph. Get a general idea of the passage before you look at the questions. (Don’t just scan through the passage, read it through carefully)
