International Student wanting to go to Ivy league

Guys, I don’t know like where this goes on this website but I just joined and find this blog to be quite entertaining. Anyways, I was wondering what type of methods I can use to get admissions officers attention that may help my chances as they are virtually none.
I was also wondering if a history major is worth it as it is the one that really interests me

Everyone’s chances are close to “virtually none.”

Include Ivy applications if you qualify. But don’t ignore the other 3000 or so colleges in this country, as well as good schools in your home country and other countries.

Yeah thats a solid point, I have a list of 17 others with lots of safety schools that offer aid. What other safety schools do you reccomend that are like University of Alabama or University of Georgia?

Another few schools with great humanities programs that have over 45% acceptance rates are UIUC, Ohio State, Iowa, and U Arizona.

As an international needing financial aid, your options will be relatively limited. You have to do careful research to find out what schools give any need based aid to international students, and even then many don’t meet 100% of need.

After the tippy tops like Ivies, Stanford and MIT, and highly selective LACs, look at Skidmore, Trinity College (CT), IIT (Chicago), Grinnell, Vassar, Wesleyan, and Macalester.

Generally the public universities (U Alabama and U Georgia as mentioned above) don’t offer much financial aid to international students. These schools typically look for full-pay international students as a way to increase revenue.
