Hi folks, I am little bit curious about GPA and school-grades. So, colleges when they looking for international students, they more emphasized on their school-grades or on SAT and TOEFL score with activities? Or both: gpa, school-grades, SAT, TOEFL, ability to pay. In that case, if somebody has low school grades but perfect SAT score with extra-activity it can be chance?

They will look at everything. International applications are competitive. But strong scores can only help you. Most look at ability to pay, but there are a few who are “need blind”.

A full pay international student with perfect SATs would have a chance nearly everywhere. Competition for financial aid among internationals is particularly intense, so chances of both being admitted and awarded full need for a student with low grades and financial need are not as good.

At most schools, the first thing considered is whether the international student is full pay or applying for aid. After that, standardized tests (SAT/TOEFL) are probably most important unless the particular high school has previously sent students to the university. After that, rigor and grades. Extracurriculars are generally of less importance in international applications than domestic.

O, perfect, thanks a lot guys! Very helpful :)
