International students accepted/deferred/rejected

this thread will be useful for us international applicants!

come join the festivites and post a reply to my rather barren thred. it longs for the erudite words of all you international applicants. let us unite!

Deferred

I'm a Canadian living in the U.S.

Did all acceptees have prestigious international awards or something? It's hard getting prestigious national awards if you're in the United States, compared to tiny countries, which put me at a disadvantage, I guess.

Accepted.

I'm a Chinese citizen, with Singapore permanent residence. Most likely to be considered Singaporean.

Nope I don't have international awards due to my citizenship. Can't represent Singapore in international olympiads. I do have a couple of national awards though. Anyway they consider international applicants differently, so I would think Singaporeans who don't have any international/national awards have a harder time getting in than Canadians.

Applying for the class of 2011 actually but I'm amazed that Choo got in with those SAT score and no apparent "hook", congrats!
I'm actually doing my may 6 SAT in England, Hillingdon-Middlesex.
