Hi, I am international student who is accepted to Johns Hopkins BME early decision. I am also accepted to California Institute of technology. However, since Hopkins is my first choice and early decision, I will attend Hopkins. My question is that what type of students do Hopkins admit for the BME's program? What kind of studying environment does Hopkins BME provide? Are there many international students in the program? What will the majority of international students plan to do after graduation?
Thank you very much for the response.

First of all, congrats on being admitted to Hopkins! Secondly, the BME program here is ridiculously difficult and is known to be one of the most difficult majors along with ChemBE (but this makes sense since we have the #1 BME program in the nation). BMEs are extremely studious (but then again, this is Hopkins, so at one point in their stint here everyone practically lives in the library) and are required to take almost all of the most difficult classes, but that’s also why they were accepted into the BME program in the first place- they are more than able to handle any situation! As for the number of international studies in the BME program, I’m not sure that anyone could say that there are a lot just in the BME program because, truthfully, they’re scattered across all of the WSE and KSAS majors. One of the biggest negatives to being a BME, however, is that there isn’t a specific niche in the job market for this particular degree. Most BMEs end up working in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering if they haven’t been recruited by the NASA, etcetera.
