<p>I'm from England and I'm taking the new SAT in March, so now that theres going to be an essay in the test and I would guess they mark spelling will they take into account spelling differences, like the English spelling colour and American spelling color. So do you think they expect you to use American spellings?</p>
<p>That is a good question. You should contact the College Board or ETS to get the answer.</p>
<p>I don't think it'll make a difference. The graders should be educated enough to know spelling differences like metre, colour, flavour...</p>
<p>And I doubt they'll see the extra i in: aluminium.</p>

<p>Haha, I wouldn't worry about it--Pretentious girl that I am, I tend to flit in and out of English spellings as a rebellion against my podunk American roots. I'm pretty sure my essay on the SAT II Writing utilized a lot of English spelling, and I got an 800, so no stress.</p>
