International Students

Any foreing students who applied to Colby for the Class 0f 2013?

Yep, I applied ED1 and got in.

Me too. Can’t wait to know the decision.

Oooh, typo. I meant, foreign :)

I did and I’d love to go to Colby.
It’s kind of sad that the economic crisis had to happen now, but I guess that’s the fate of class 2013 ;p
Quite sure I won’t get in…

i did… and iam quite sure i wont get in either… ahhahaha watever

i did! i have an indian passport but ive been living in the middle east my entire life. i hope i get in because ive already gotten two rejections, one from brandeis (a big surprise…maybe because its a jewish uni and i live in the middle east?) and duke (ughh another disappointment. i thought i had a shot). i’ll keep my fingers crossed!!

are there any accepted international students here??

yep i got accepted RD, international student from New Zealand. Originally born in China, lived in England then moved to NZ, currently NZ Citizen. Got $27,340 in financial aid, they want my parents to pay $25,000. But in my application, I calculated my parental contribution to be only $10,000 O.o

How come Colby more than doubled my listed parental contribution in the financial aid package? It’s gona be really difficult coming up with an extra $15,000. My dad’s a financial analyst in Shanghai, it’s not exactly a good position to be in for this year cause of the economic crisis.

Jiangatan - Colby says it would meet the 100% demonstrated need to international students. You should negotiate with them and try to increase your aid.
