International studies

It seems like there are very few schools that offer international studies as an undergrad major. I'm crazy for Georetown but want to expand the search. Size isn't a factor. I have a 2300 SAT, 98 GPA, good ecc - model u.n., foreign service programs, my school's academic challenge team,

Have you thought about other majors that would have a significant international component to them such as political science, history, business, or economics? Not that it would make it any easier to find specific schools but it would broaden your choices.

Dickinson College ¶ would be a solid choice (and likely of a safety for you as well). The school has Int’l Studies and stresses the importance of a global education.

There are 308 US institutions that awarded at least one bachelor’s degree in international studies in 2010. What kind of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a medium sized school with intellectually curious students hopefully near a big city with good internship possibilities.
Thanks for replying!

Yes - I’m thinking an economics minor might combine well

Tufts University

Second Tufts and sadilly’s comment about finding similar programs with strong international components. Also look at Rice, Macalester and Johns Hopkins. If you feel like buying a lottery ticket, apply to Harvard. In DC, check out American and George Washington, noting that those schools want to be shown love and not just treated as a safety for people who really want Georgetown. U Maryland College Park is also worth a look.
