internationals applying to Yale

there will be some differences (for example, the grading system's not quite the same, and they realize that. the available ECs are a bit different, and some of the common ECs go under different names.). but in general they probably consider Canadians similarly to the way they consider Americans. i don't know if they care as much about the race of Canadian applicants....maybe they still do. in the ivies, financial aid is "need blind" to Canadians as well as Americans (i think 1 or 2 have it for Mexicans too). no, all in all, i think we're closer to the Americans than to the other internationals.

bellicious add me~~
then we can stress over our VCE results together >< (hehe... not)

I'm from romania, applying RD. I want to major pure math, and i would just love the combination with humanities that yale has to offer...

can anyone tell me anything about math at yale?

What's UWC? RJ - Raffles Junior College, has been at Mt Sinai Road (near Holland Road) but will be moving to its new campus at Bishan in January.

hey guys

another aussie here :) good luck with VCEs, i did my HSC last year, and im at uni now (biomedical science)... have you gotten any strange reactions when you asked for references and transcripts and whatever? like, "aren't the universities here good enough??" because i got that when I was gonna transfer (well, apply to transfer :) ) to yale mid year this year. i didn't apply though, so i was wondering what kind of response you guys got :)

Haha, isn't this humorous?

wmgan : UWC stands for United World College which is located somewhere along Dover road just across the street from Singapore Polytechnic.

silver_wavez : RJC stands for Raffles Junior College and it's located at Mt Sinai(you can actually get there by Holland road and just turn into the little street where you see Henry Park Primary).

Funny how you guys hardly know where the other school is when we're actually that close to one another. silver_wavez, I've actually got a friend who's an alumni of both UWC and Yale so hope that's a good omen for you of sorts.

Soz y17k.......haven't been checking CC often enough. I've added you on MSN. But just in case, here's mine:

Btw have you got the letter confirming what they have/don't have? I've got the mail telling me my decision site but no postcard regarding missing documents :(
