Internship after Sophomore year?

<p>I'm just wondering what type of internship I should target (I'm in a decent target but not top tier with a 3.8 GPA and am a business major). I've heard that I should focus on boutiques since getting internships from investment banks is very difficult as a sophomore, but how do I apply to these boutiques? And is the information I've received correct? Also, is it recommended not to try for the top tier ones like Lazard?</p>

<p>My suggestion is that you shall apply to all internships that you are allowed to apply. It is very competitive in this economy. You need to be proactive, cast your net wide and see what opportunities avail to you. Make good use of your school’s Career Services and Career Fairs. If you have not started applying yet you shall definitely start now before it is too late.</p>
