Internship Vs. Summer School Dillema

Hi all,

I'm just looking for some advice for my situation. I am pursuing a double major in Accounting and MIS. So basically I need seven-eight courses to graduate after this summer which will require two semesters. I have fallen behind a semester and 1/2 because of some health issues and I would like to graduate as soon as possible. My plan is to take a few summer classes and then just graduate after the coming Fall semester. But I may also have the chance to get a supply chain internship this summer which could very well lead to a full time offer upon completing the internship. If I do take the route of the internship I will have to stay for the Spring semester which would also cost me more $$$ and push me back another semester. I already have an accounting internship atm, but would like to get some work experience for both my majors. I also plan to sit for the CPA exam, but that is something I can worry about upon graduating.

Does anyone have any advice as to which route I should take? Advantages/disadvantages of each way? Any help would be appreciated

I would absolutely take the internship (and maybe a class or two online if you can swing it).

You’ll likely learn far more from the internship than from classes.

you should take the internship that has a good shot at leading to a job… that is the ultimate reason you are going to college, right?

the payoff has the potential to vastly outweigh the cost of the extra semester.

I assume your internship is a paid internship which will earn you money. I second what others said here, internship is more important than taken summer classes in your case.

I just wanna give you props for that solid double major. Those two fields are both in high demand, you should fare well in the job market.

I would recommend that you take advantage of the summer internship rather than taking some classes this summer. An internship can go a very long way in preparing you for your career and may help you secure a job when you graduate.

I think the internship is the better choice!
