Internship

Has anyone ever interned for a senator/congressman? How did you apply and how was it?

My senator asks for a writing sample on a topic of my choice, did anyone else have to do that? What did you write about? (This is in addition to a paper explaining why I want to be an intern)

don't do it
it's not as rewarding as it seems.
try to get a local councilman or assemblyman

Why isn't it rewarding?

.-_-.

you don't get to do stuff that are actually fun
you have to work a long time to get to do the things i did- casework, etc
working in a smaller office gives you a chance to really work on great projects and participate more

But wouldn't a place with a 'formal' internship program have more things to do than just calling a place an dasking if you can intern there?

trust me. its nothing special
you will be doing paperwork/b*tchwork for a LONG time
call around and tell the locals your interest in them im sure you'll find a more rewarding experience there

Hah ok thanks.

Does anyone know how to find a business internship? I live in a small suburb, there are no 'big' opportunities here

what kind of work are you looking for?
where exactly do you live?

dont listen to irap3pillows
do the intern with senator/congressman
its a wonderful precious opportunity

bold statement master. i'm going to assume you've never had that chance.

dont front

wow.........

Wow, you really want to intern for a congressman now?! Better be hot...

pillows, you have a creepy username.
