internship

I am very interested in psychology as a major.
Available internship for every summer break in high school (domestic violence groups)
I guess i just want reassurance...but this is my passion and being able to intern at the same company for 4 years of hs would be awesome...so how do you guys think the colleges would look at this? And no, I'm not just doing this because "i want it to look good." Thanks :D

Are you saying you already have the internship? Your message is a bit unclear. If so, then do it. You'll get great experience and maybe even a great rec from someone at the company (since they'll know you for 3 summer breaks before application season).

Doing the internship would show professional experience and long-term commitment to your field of study, which is definitely a good thing. If it's your passion, go for it!

sorry i wasn't clear on some things; i already have the internship. If i wanted to get a recommendation from someone at the company, is there a spot for it on the college app? I only thought you were allowed to have 2 teachers and a counselor.

on the college app where would you put the internship? under e.c.'s? also, how do they confirm that you aren't lying about it all...I would have to provide information on the business, right?

^You can send a supplemental rec to most colleges, but don't you worry about that now (you've got 2 years before you can even start filling out apps).

ok thanks. but...do the colleges just take your word on it? i mean, how do i confirm that I actually did the internship..would my rec letter show that?

bbuummpp...

your rec letter will show that you actually did your internship. and yes they will believe you... college admissions dont 'guess' which EC's are real or made up...

^And besides, if for some reason they DID doubt it, they'd call the company or your guidance counselor and find out, so you don't need to send them any proof (unless you did some significant research there or something that you'd want to send anyway). But like I said, don't worry so much! You've got 2 years before the end of junior year, and admissions competition probably won't be quite as fierce for you as it was for this year and will be for next year.
