Internships and a Japanese Studies major?

So my major is Japanese Studies, with a minor in Korean studies, and while I don't need an internship to graduate, it sounds like a worth while experience and would definitely look great on a resume. My problem is that, while I would like to try to do some sort of internship, paid or unpaid, I'm having difficulty finding anything that sounds like it would even remotely fit my major/what I would feel qualified to do. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could look/what I could do for an internship? Thanks!~

Where are you studying? Different universities have different programs so its possible your college might have an intern program set up.

Besides university-run internship programs, you can try looking at the US Department of State or the Pasona Internship Program. The US Department of State has an internship program at the US Embassy in Tokyo (<a href=“Internships/Fellowships - Careers”>http://careers.state.gov/students/programs</a>) and the Pasona Internship Program allows students to intern at a Japanese company for two months with a monthly stipend and airfare included (nambufound.com).

There are more programs, I’m sure, but these are just a few.

I don’t really have time to go back to Japan; I need to graduate… But maybe the 2 month one is doable over the summer… but in a Japanese company… I don’t have any background in business whatsoever so would that still be possible? I have a part time job here I’d rather keep through grad school so I was hoping there might be one in the Albany, NY area that I could do…

oh and I study at SUNY Albany
