Internships and Experience

How much do Law Schools primarily care about internships and work opportunities a student underwent such as government and law firms? Or does it vary by which law school you attend?

I’m an undergraduate student at UCSD and I want to know how much is getting into law school about LSAT/Grades and how much is it about putting yourself out there for experience?

The only ones that care much are the small schools – Yale, Stanford and Chicago – since they can pick and choose their class members. That being said, get involved in school. It does not have to be in a ‘legal’ clinic; it can be tutoring low income kids, for example. Or, research. Or, TA.

Graduate, take a year off and study for the LSAT. Prosper.
